Another Great Creation at Action Stations

What a fabulous year of action stations we have had.  The children have enjoyed leading their learning and trying new things that they may not have chosen as an interest before.

Here is one last video of learning in action.

Poppy, Alice, Brooke and Lucy have worked together to manage themselves and persevere in their creation of this jingle.  They created the music together and performed wonderfully to a well-known Christmas carol.

Well done girls.  Great job working together and performing to our audience.  See what you think by clicking on the photo below!

Letters to Santa

We thought it would be a good idea to write letters to Santa today and use some lovely language to ask nicely for gifts we would like to receive.

We hope Santa is up with the technology so that he can read our letters although we are posting them to him also.

Well another year has rushed by on us and of course this means that another Junior Production was on show.

The children did an outstanding job learning their dance with Miss Fairbairn and the show was amazing.  Well done Room 5 and all the other Juniors involved.

Here is a photo of us before the production and a sample of our writing. We hope you enjoy sharing it.

Beach Education!

We had so much fun at Beach Ed.  The weather was good for us and with the help of Sunsmart Sam we helped fill in all the things we need when we go out in the sun!

Check if your child remembers what each word is with each letter represented by looking at the photo of Sunsmart Sam.

Labour Weekend Fun!!!

Labour Weekend Recount Writing!

We are working hard to make our stories more interesting by adding more detail and some 'wow' words that will 'capture the reader'.  How do you think we are going?

My Weekend
In the amazing awesome Labour weekend I went to the park.  I saw Leila and also my other friend.  I went with my brother Lucan and my brother Cohen and I came with my Dad.
First I played with my friend’s puppy.  We took the puppy for a walk.  I played on the swings.  It was fun because my Dad swung me high.
After that we left and we walked home and we ate dinner.  It was a fun Labour weekend. My fun weekend was just what I wanted!
Then I went to bed.  I felt so terrific that I went to the park, only that it was a bit dark.
My favourite was when I played with my friend’s dog.  It was cute.  I like dogs because they are fluffy.

Labour Weekend

A windy, sunny, watery, playful weekend.

First I went to an Asian shop.  We were looking for a medicine for my grandad.

Next we went to Brighton.  This is what we did.  We went to the park.  We went up some steep stairs to go down a long, slippery slide.  We also had lunch – it was sushi, a pear and feijoa drink.  We also played on the circle, black, two-person chair.

Next we went to the beach.  We didn’t have to go far because the beach is connected to the park.  I found heaps of shells.

Then we went home.  When we got home Tahlia and I had an ice-block.

I like my weekend because I have not been to Brighton beach for ages.

Labour Weekend Fun
Yay!  It is amazing, fantastic, wonderful Labour weekend.  My family and me went to Woodhaugh gardens.
First we had a walk.  My Mum tricked us that a lion was here but there was no gold maned lion.  So when my brother heard about it, he threw rocks at stuff just to pretend.  We took our dog because we do not normally take her.
Next, we went to the park at the Woodhaugh gardens with the whole family.
Then my Mum asked, “do you want to go on the flying fox or in the pool?” and Emily and me said “the pool!”  So we went in the cold pool.
Lastly when we were in the pool we had a water fight with Aiden and we got soggy and so wet that we had to change our wet and sooooo soggy clothes to dry clothes.
I liked going to Woodhaugh gardens because we got to go in the cold pool.

The next day, on Monday, we decided that we would go to Moana Pool.  Daddy, Jack and I went on the fast, zooming hydro slide.  We saw Kiana and her family so we all went on the hydro slide.  I raced my Dad and Jack.  I went on the hydro slide with Kiana.  We went by ourselves even though Kiana is only four.
Later on we decided to get out of the hydro slide.  Dad said, “We will come back,” we said “ok Dad.”  Then we had a race in the big water slide.  I won the race!
Next we went back on the hydro slide, Kiana and I still won the races.
Lastly all of us went back to see Mummy and Harry in the learners pool.  There was another big water slide.  I went on it lots of times.

Sweet, we got an extra day for the weekend.
First we drove to Alex from 7pm till 9pm.  We were going to Grandma’s and Grandad’s.
The day after that, we fed the dogs with Grandad.  We fed them biscuits and meat and Grandad ate one of the biscuits.
When we were coming back I had a triathlon but no swim.  I was really fast because I got a medal – I came 3rd.
Once we were back we went to the butterflies and heaps of them landed on me.
I felt proud of myself because I came 3rd in my triathlon.

My Weekend
In the long weekend my bedroom was moved into the spare room.
First Aimee needed a space for work so Aimee used my bedroom.
Then we went to the farm to meet some people to buy the farm.  Those people said it was too small for their horse.
After that we went home to see my new bed.  It had a stretcher bed under my bed.  My bed is pink.
Later on a desk came.  I didn’t know what it was yet, but when it was built I saw it was a desk.  I love it!
After that, we went out for tea and we had seven things.  I had noodles with spaghetti and meatballs and some chips.  Then I had an ice cream sundae.

My Weekend
Guess what?  I got an extra day off in the weekend.  Oh it was so fun.
My neighbours came over for tea and dessert and my friends came too.  All there was were boys.  I asked Gracie, my big sister, if I could play with her but she said “No!”  So I asked Leo, my little brother, if I could play with him but he said “No!”  So I went into the shed and pretended to make some soup.
One day later Rewa came over.  We watched a movie, we played Mum’s and Dad’s, we played musical statues and we played lots more games.
The next day we went to the museum.  It was Josephine the trains’ party.  Don’t worry, she’s just pretend.  There was a big, big, big, big caterpillar and we went though it.  “Ouch!  My hip, I cut my hip while I was going down the hill inside the caterpillar.”
We were allowed to get our face painted and get a balloon but while we were lining up in the line a lady came who owned the museum.  She was curling her hair.  She said, “Where are your parents?”  We said, “Right there.”  “The one with the cap on, the one with the bow?”  “No, they are around the corner.”  “Oh sorry” she said, “the face painters are going home now.”  We went, very sad, back to Mum and Dad so Dad painted our faces at home.
The next day we got some lollies for Halloween.  I picked some jaffas, Gracie picked lollipops, Leo picked jaffas like me and Ollie picked lollipops like Gracie.  Mum and Dad got some different lollies, some candy corn and lots of other lollies too.
I liked my weekend because Mum and Dad took us to fun places.
