All children are required to wear the blue
school sunhat outside during Term 1.
Please send these along as soon as possible,

Our Library day is Monday.
Children are allowed to borrow 2 books at a time. They will need to bring their books back on or before Monday
to be able to borrow more books.
Library books can be put
in the “Library Books” basket in
the class library space.

may bring along a favourite book to share. Please help your child to prepare for this by practising

Poetry
and rhyme offer a fun and natural way for children to explore and discover
language. Each week, Room 5 will
learn a new poem in class. We will
usually illustrate the poem in class, however sometimes children will need to
illustrate their poem at home.
Children can share their poem with you for reading on Fridays. Many of the poems, the children will be
able to read to you, although sometimes they will need your help to read the
poem. It is beneficial to read the
poem several times aloud, so children can practice fluent and rhythmic reading.
If
children forget to bring home a reading book on any other day of the week, they
may like to choose a poem from their poem book as their home reading for the
night.
